MAKE MONEY WITH PAID SURVEYS WITH FIONA
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR LATERAL FUSS.
Hello! I’m Fiona – Mom of one and lover of all things money saving and thrifty. I also like to earn extra money where I can too While surveys don’t always pay the most money, they do come with a number of benefits. Surveys can be done any time of the day – whether you get up at night to feed a baby or get bored on the daily commute, they can easily be done from a phone or tablet While you should be careful with the questions, the polls aren’t too taxing either – often doing a few in the evenings while watching Netflix.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN JOSTLING? HOW DID YOU GET THERE?
I have been doing surveys for several years now as an easy way to earn extra money. When my husband and I decided to buy a house, we knew we had to save a huge deposit – the surveys helped me earn a bit more to add to the pot Surveys are a great way to save for something you usually couldn’t afford and can be a great motivator to keep them even if the rewards aren’t always huge.
WHAT DOES THE JOB REALLY INVOLVE? WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORKDAY / SESSION LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
Most surveys are fairly easy and usually ask for your opinion on everyday things, like where you do most of your shopping or which movies you want to see. They also ask questions about your household and income to make sure you are a good fit for the survey Some survey sites also require you to perform tasks for making money, such as watching videos, searching the web, and playing games – things you might just be doing on your phone anyway.
You can log in any time of the day or night to see what surveys are available, so it’s ideal for those who are working unusual hours or don’t want to commit to anything concrete. Sometimes there will be a lot of surveys available and sometimes less – it can be a bit frustrating if you have some spare time, but there is nothing to fill out.
That said, most people who take surveys are signed up for many different survey websites, so there should usually be something to choose from. I tend to pick the higher-paying ones to check first and gradually work my way up to the lower ones.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU EARN BY DOING THAT SIDE SCUFFLE?
The amount you can earn from surveys will vary wildly depending on several factors including your demographics and how much time you are willing to spend on these surveys.
Each survey site has different pay rates for responding to surveys – some of them aren’t even close to minimum wage, so it’s worth considering how important your time is versus how much you could earn. Others pay really well, but again, it all depends on the number of surveys available and your eligibility to complete them. I would say 20 a week is achievable without much effort.
ARE THERE ANY START-UP COSTS AND / OR RUNNING EXPENSES WITH THIS SIDEWAYS FUSS?
As long as you have access to a phone, tablet, or laptop and an internet connection, you’re good to go. It’s worth remembering if you earn more than $ 1,000 a year from surveys (or any other taxable hassle), you will need to register with HMRC and file an income tax return.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO GET STARTED?
Most people have a few survey sites that they prefer over others. It’s worth signing up for plenty of bundles to see which ones you enjoy the most – the more you get to know and use each site, the faster you’ll get. Many survey sites also have apps, so it’s worth downloading them so you can complete surveys on the go. I also recommend following your favorite social media survey sites as they often run contests and will have updates on what’s going on with the site.
RECOMMENDED WEBSITES OR RESOURCES?
Prolific Academic is my favorite survey site because surveys pay very well (usually at least 5 hours) and are quite interesting since they are part of university studies.
Prolific doesn’t exclude you from surveys like other sites do – so if you are eligible for a survey, you can complete it.
